Route description: Tobermory-Main Street-Lighthouse Path-Rubha nan Gall-Lighthouse Path-Main Street-Tobermory
Given the forecast of wet and windy weather arriving late in the morning, I decided to fit in a short walk before it arrived. Visiting the lighthouse at Rubha nan Gall from Tobermory fit the bill. The views from it weren't too bad, and even on a grey and windy morning it proved to be a popular place. The early finish did mean that I could have a proper look around Tobermory.
From the Ledaig car park in Tobermory I walked north along Main Street to its end at the lifeboat station. I then took the track on the left signposted "Lighthouse Path" and followed it up into and through the woodland on the hillside above. As Rubha nan Gall is approached the path leaves the woodland and I soon reached the lighthouse. After taking in the view I retraced my steps back to Tobermory.

It's a grey and overcast morning in Tobermory
I leave Tobermory via the lighthouse path
A break in the trees gives me a view across to Auliston Point on Morven
and across the Sound of Mull, with the northern end of Calve Island on the right
Ben Hiant on the right, on Ardnamurchan

The lighthouse sits at the end of a pier. I'll walk out to its end and take in the view.
Looking southeast down the Sound of Mull
and northwest to Ardmore Point on the left and Ardnamurchan on the right
Along the coast to Bloody Bay and Ardmore Point
and east to the entrance to Loch Sunart
Looking across to Ardnamurchan and the village of Kilchoan
On the way back to Tobermory and I take in the lighthouse at Rubha nan Gall from the viewpoint on the map
