16th October 2014 - By the Wharfe from Grassington
Walk Details
Distance walked: 4.4 miles
Total ascent: 428 ft
OS map used: OL2 - Yorkshire Dales, Southern & Western areas
Time taken: 2 hrs
Route description: Grassington-High Lane-Hebden-Back Lane-Mill Lane-Dales Way-Linton Falls-Grassington
Unfortunately I'm off work ill this week but I was feeling a bit better this morning and I really wanted to go out and get some fresh air so I went to Grassington for a walk by the River Wharfe and to visit Linton Falls. Plus there was the added bonus of coffee and cake afterwards.
From the National Park car park I made my way up through the village to the track of High Lane which I then followed across the hillside to Hebden. I bypassed walking through the village of Hebden but took the track of Back Lane down to Mill Lane and the Wharfe. With hindsight I should have walked through Hebden, Back Lane had a really muddy stretch. I then followed the Dales Way to Linton Falls and back to Grassington.

It's brightened up nicely as I arrive in Grassington
Onto the track of High Lane
Looking back..
..and down on Grassington and it feels warm in the sun. It hasn't taken long for me to take my jacket off.
On the path above Wharfedale
By the River Wharfe and the suspension bridge that carries the Dales Way across it
Great riverside scenery as I follow the Dales Way to Linton Falls and back to Grassington...
At Linton Falls and there's a really nice light for taking photos
