17th March 2013 - Boulsworth Hill

Walk Details

Distance walked: 7.7 miles

Total ascent: 1532 ft

OS map used: OL21 - South Pennines

Time taken: 4 hrs

Route description: Wycoller-Bronte Way-Dean House Farm-Bronte Way-Pendle Way-Boulsworth Hill-Pendle Way-Bronte Way-Dean House Farm-Bronte Way-Wycoller

Things didn't look at all promising after overnight snow had left a very grey morning with low cloud. However as midday approached the cloud lifted off the hills and it showed signs of brightening up. Boots and rucksack were put in the car and the short drive to Wycoller was done for a walk up Boulsworth Hill.

I started this walk from the car park outside the hamlet of Wycoller. After walking through the hamlet I basically followed either the Bronte Way or Pendle Way (they follow the same route for the most part on this walk) to make the ascent of Boulsworth Hill and back again.

It was a good job that I was looking where I was putting my feet or this Common frog would have been slightly less common
