Route description: NT Stickle Barn car park-Stool End farm-Oxendale-Red Tarn-Great Knott-Crinkle Crags-Three Tarns-Bowfell-Esk Pike-Esk Hause-Angle Tarn-Rossett Gill-Mickleden-NT Stickle Barn car park

A long walk done on a fine early autumn day.

From the NT car park at Stickle Barn I made my way to Stool End farm before heading into Oxendale for the long climb to Red Tarn. On reaching Red Tarn I then did the traverse of the Crinkle Crags to Three Tarns. From Three Tarns I then climbed Bowfell and Esk Pike. After visiting the summit of Esk Pike my route back was down to Esk Hause, past Angle Tarn, down Rossett Gill and then along Mickleden to Great Langdale.
