29th November 2020 - Noyna Hill

Walk Details

Distance walked: 5.3 miles

Total ascent: 586 ft

OS map used: OL21 - South Pennines

Time taken: 2 hrs

Route description: Foulridge-B6251-Reedymoor Lane-Foulridge Lower Reservoir-A56-Castle Road-Cockhill Lane-Cob Lane-Noyna Hill-Skipton Old Road-Foulridge

The best of a weekend of bad weather was a grey and gloomy afternoon for a walk from home around my local countryside. The cloud was sitting so low it was covering the top of Noyna Hill at just 300m. The light wind did mean that there were some nice reflections in Foulridge Lower Reservoir.

From where I live in Foulridge I walked along the B6251 and Reedymoor Lane to Foulridge Lower Reservoir. I then followed the path by its southern shore to the A56, then walked by the A56 towards Colne and turned left onto Castle Road. After walking east by Castle Road I took a footpath on the left across a field as a shortcut to Cockhill Lane, then walked up Cockhill Lane, and up Cob Lane to its top. I then made my way up onto Noyna Hill, across its top and down to Skipton Old Road for a return to Foulridge and home.
