30th August 2008 - A Newlands Horseshoe

Walk Details

Distance walked: 8.9 miles

Total ascent: 3439 ft

OS map used: OL4 - The English Lakes, North-western area

Time taken: 6.5 hrs

Route description: Chapel Bridge-Low High Snab-High Snab Bank-Robinson-Littledale Edge-Dale Head-Dalehead Tarn-High Spy-Blea Crag-Maiden Moor-Hause Gate-Chapel Bridge

A rather murky day for this walk above the Newlands valley.

From where I parked at Chapel Bridge I made my way past Newlands church to Low High Snab farm to climb Robinson by High Snab Bank. After reaching Robinson I walked across Littledale Edge to Dale Head. It was then a descent to Dalehead Tarn, across High Spy and Maiden Moor before heading back to Chapel Bridge from Hause Gate.
