Walk Details

Distance walked: 12.0 miles

Total ascent: 1865 feet

OS map used: OL2 - Yorkshire Dales, Southern and Western areas

Route description: Embsay Reservoir-Embsay Crag-Embsay Moor-North Earls-Upper Barden Reservoir-Barden Moor-Numberstones End-Burnsall Fell-Cracoe Fell-Rylstone Fell-Crookrise Crag Top-Embsay Reservoir

I parked in the car park at Embsay Reservoir. From there I followed a track round the reservoir and then made my way up Embsay Crag. From Embsay Crag I headed north across Embsay Moor and then down to Upper Barden Reservoir. I then followed a track up and around Burnsall Fell before eventually arriving at the war memorial on Cracoe Fell. I then followed the top of the crags across to Rylstone Cross before heading across Rylstone Fell to Crookrise Crag Top. From there it was just a walk downhill back to Embsay Reservoir and the car park.
